St. Raphael Center, Inc., located at 4365 Fulton Drive N.W., has served the Catholic community of Stark County for nearly three decades. The center is expanding its community programming with the St. Padre Pio Prayer Group. The inaugural meeting will be held on October 19 at 6:30 p.m. with Mass prior to the meeting. The chalice belonging to St. Padre Pio will be on display at this first meeting.
“Our hope is that this group will learn about this great man and saint. That they will connect with him by asking for his intercession for their prayer,” said Barbara Gaskell, director of St. Raphael Center, Inc.
Each subsequent meeting will be held on the third Friday of each month at St. Raphael Center, Inc. The center’s spiritual adviser, Fr. Nicholas Mancini, will facilitate the meetings and also serve as celebrant of the Mass.
St. Raphael Center, Inc. opened its doors on September 15, 1989. The center began as a 300 square foot space and has since grown into the 7,500 square foot multipurpose facility on Fulton Drive.
